Eleven children were uninjured after a Tiffin City school bus was involved in an accident Thursday morning at Circular and Melmore streets.
Tiffin Police officer Steven Beutler said a Chrysler Sebring driven by Patience M. LeClair, 21, of Pleasantville, had been northbound on Melmore Street when it failed to stop at a red light and collided with a school bus that had been eastbound on Circular Street just before 11 a.m.
Beutler said the Sebring and the bus, which was hit on its right front corner, had disabling damage and were towed from the scene.
The 11 children and the bus driver were not injured, Beutler said. LeClair, who complained of an arm injury, was treated at the scene.
Beutler said the children were put on a different school bus to finish its route. He said southbound and westbound traffic were closed for a short amount of time while a crew cleaned up the scene.
Beutler said LeClair was cited with failure to obey a traffic control device.
