Ronald Eugene Hofelich, 78, of rural Clyde, died Monday, April 8, 2013, at Stein Inpatient Unit, Sandusky.
He was born Nov. 7, 1935, in Clyde, to the late George Dale and Rose Mae (Grove) Hofelich. Mr. Hofelich served our country in the National Guard. He married Shirley (Wise) Sept. 28, 1957, and she preceded him in death June 24, 2012.
Survivors include five children, Leslie Robinson of Flat Rock, Kenneth Hofelich of Fremont, Lisa (Michael) Doebel of Clyde, Denise (Walter) Rogalinski of Fremont and Dana Dearsman of Clyde; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary (Harry) Warner of Fremont.
Mr. Hofelich also was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Mercedes Shearon, Ellen Louise Smetzer, Dale Hofelich, John Hofelich and George Hofelich.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde.
His funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clyde. The Rev. Eric Culler will officiate and burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
