Honor Flight Northwest Ohio is to begin its 2013 flying season April 30 by taking 74 veterans to Washington, D.C., according to a news release. The flight has been designated the "Ronald Miller Memorial Flight" in memory of the Genoa American Legion Band announcer who died in December.
Veterans, each accompanied by a personal "guardian," will visit the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial, the Air Force Memorial, the Iwo Jima Marine Corps Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, according to the release.
Veterans of World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War still can apply to be on an Honor Flight. More information for veterans and guardians can be found at www.honorflightnwo.org.
