Lauren Schalk and Stefan Tiell exchanged wedding vows at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 15, 2012, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bascom. The Rev. John Stowe was officiant during the double-ring ceremony. A reception followed at Meadowbrook Park Ballroom, Bascom.
The bride is the daughter of Phil and Jean Schalk of New Riegel.
The groom is the son of Jerry and Susie Tiell of Fostoria.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory satin gown with an ornately embellished bodice and draped A-line skirt with an asymmetrical train. She carried a bouquet of red roses, lilies and calla lilies.
Kelly Wank of Westerville was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Renae Schalk of New Riegel and Nichole Schalk-Tiell of Bascom, sisters of the bride, and Eleni Gladieux of Burgoon, sister of the groom.
The attendants wore golden-bronze satin, floor-length dresses with assymetrical gathering in the front. They carried bouquets of red spray-roses and red lilies.
Sienna Tiell of Bascom, niece of the bride, Bella Tiell of Findlay and Adalee Wagner of Upper Sandusky, nieces of the groom, were flower girls.
Adam Kessler of Fostoria served as best man. Groomsmen were Quentin Tiell of Fostoria, brother of the groom, Keith Schalk of New Riegel, brother of the bride, and Daniel Kuzma of Amsden, friend of the groom.
The bride, a 2005 graduate of New Riegel High School, graduated from The Ohio State University in 2009 and will graduate in 2014 with a doctorate in physical therapy from The University of Toledo.
The groom graduated in 2006 from Hopewell-Loudon High School and in 2008 from The University of Toledo with a paramedic certificate. He is a firefighter and paramedic with Sylvania Fire Department.
A rehearsal dinner was at Nature Trails.
Following a honeymoon to Riviera-Cancun, Mexico, the couple lives in Toledo.
