A barn caught fire Wednesday afternoon on East CR 38, causing significant damage.
Green Springs Fire Chief Greg Lowe said the homeowner at 7761 E. CR 38 had been burning something when embers flew into the loft of the barn, igniting a fire. The fire was reported at 4:37 p.m., according to Seneca County Sheriff's Office reports.
Lowe said the barn was not very big, but it is considered a total loss.
The homeowner was able to remove a trailer from the barn before it was damaged by the fire, Lowe said.
According to reports from the Seneca County Sheriff's Office, Green Springs firefighters were assisted at the scene by Republic firefighters and Republic EMS.
