After an increase at the top of the year, unemployment rates dropped in Seneca and all surrounding counties in February.
Seneca County's unemployment rate fell from 8.9 percent in January to 7.8 percent in February, according to the Civil Labor Force Estimates from Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
Hancock County continued to have the lowest jobless rate in the area with 6.3 percent. Ottawa and Huron counties had the biggest drop in unemployment in February, but at 12.2 percent, they still have the highest rates in the area.
Sandusky County saw a 1.3 percent drop and had a 7.9 percent unemployment rate in February.
All unemployment rates in the area are down from February 2012.
