Bridge over torrent of water

The railroad bridge, above, that carried trains across the Sandusky River as well as Riverside Drive and Water Street was the only span left standing after the 1913 flood. The Washington Street bridge was swept away, right, and later replaced; the Monroe Street bridge, inset below, was not.
