A Tiffin man was transported to the hospital after he was found inside his residence with head injuries Friday afternoon.
Detective Lt. Jason Windsor of the Tiffin Police Department said Lewis Slemmer, 50, was transported to Mercy Tiffin Hospital after he was found at his residence, 225 S. Monroe St., at 3:25 p.m. According to a release from the Tiffin Police Department, Slemmer was unconscious when police and emergency responders arrived, and had injuries consistent with being assaulted.
After being taken to Mercy Tiffin Hospital, Slemmer later was transported to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, according to the release.
Windsor said Slemmer remained in serious condition Friday night.
The Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation was called to the South Monroe Street residence Friday to assist in the investigation. Windsor said law enforcement still are investigating the incident and no arrests had been made as of Friday night.
