The Advertiser-Tribune has been recognized in the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors' 2012 newspaper competition.
The sports department is among three finalists for its coverage of the state high school track meet and Editor Rob Weaver is a finalist for his full-page layout on nuclear disarmament headlined "Disarmageddon."
The entries were judged against others in Division II, covering newspapers with circulation of 8,000 to 12,999.
Winners will be announced at the annual Ohio APME convention May 19 in Columbus.
Sixty-seven daily newspapers submitted 2,742 entries in the contest, which featured news and sports stories, features, editorials, columns, graphics and photos from 2012.
