Herbert N. Fuhrer, 86, of Tiffin, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 10, 1927, in Sylvania, to Burton and Alfreda (Petit) Fuhrer. He married Anna Marie Bare in July 1956 in Indiana. She died Feb. 11, 1994.
Survivors include six sons, David (Becky) Fuhrer of Tiffin, Dennis (Virginia) Fuhrer of Spain, and Jon (Carlyle) Fuhrer, Jeff (Cindy) Fuhrer, Brad (Wendy) Fuhrer and Mark (Laurie) Fuhrer, all of Tiffin; a daughter, Shelley (Alan) Ewen of Monroe, Mich.; 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Evelyn Carlson of Albuquerque, N.M.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Daniel Fuhrer; and three brothers, Don, Norm and Fred Fuhrer.
Mr. Fuhrer was a graduate of Van Buren High School. He retired from General Electric Company of Tiffin. He was a member of the Eagles and the VFW of Tiffin. He was an avid golfer and will be missed by his golfing buddies.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Traunero Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, (419) 447-3113.
His funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at the funeral home with the Rev. John Alice officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, McCutchenville.
