Elva M. Clapp, 84, formerly of rural Fremont, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Elmwood Nursing Home, Green Springs.
Elva was born April 5, 1928, in Fremont, to Elmer "Pete" and Anna (Mason) Pfeiffer. She married Philip P. Clapp Aug. 9, 1947, and he survives in Fremont.
She also is survived by five children, Steve (Marsha) Clapp of Clyde, Shirley (Marvin) Meyer of Bellevue, Scott (Dorine) Clapp of Fremont, Sheila (Craig) Feick of Bellevue and Stanley (Amy) Clapp of Fremont; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Nancy (Donald) DeVault of Bellevue.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Thelma Craig.
Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde.
Her funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Wisehart officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
