The deadline for entries in Tiffin Art Guild's 2013 Photo Prize and Show is Saturday.
Entries may be delivered to the TAG gallery, 178 S. Washington St., noon-4 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The contest is open to northwest and north central Ohio photographers, amateur or professional, ages 16 and older.
The show is to open at 6:30 p.m. March 2 at the gallery, and cash prizes are to be given.

Family to Family classes
forming in Fremont, Republic
Family to Family classes are forming for area families and friends of those with mental illness. Sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties, the 11-week course is taught by trained instructors at no cost to participants.
Today, a class is scheduled for 7-9:30 p.m. in Room 312, Building A, at Terra State Community College. The sessions continue on consecutive Wednesdays until completed.

Genealogy class offered
FREMONT Online search engines are fantastic tools, but narrowing the myriad results to your needs can be time-
consuming. The Hayes Presidential Center's "Internet Genealogy I" class targets the best websites for family history research.
The next class is 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday in the Hayes Research Library. The fee of $10 for adults and $5 for students through high school covers handouts, the two-hour instruction and a tour of the Hayes Library.
Head Librarian and genealogist Becky Hill provides instruction on where to find free genealogical websites and the techniques to make the best use of them.
She is to explain such Internet resources as the center's Ohio Obituary Index, as well as familysearch.org, USgen
web.org, worldcat.org and ellisisland.org.

Hospice training to begin
Community Hospice Care is to start volunteer training classes Tuesday.
The classes are to run 6:30-9 p.m. in the Hospice office, 181 E. Perry St.

CASA to train advocates
CASA of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties is to have an organizational meeting at 5:30 p.m. March 14 for a new class of volunteers.
Classes are to meet at the main office, 21 Court St.
A CASA volunteer is appointed by a juvenile court judge to represent the best interest of an abused and/or neglected child in court.
CASA volunteers are specially trained to gather information about the circumstances in child abuse and neglect cases. Unbiased information is presented to the judge so an informed decision can be made about the child's future.

'After Five' rescheduled
Due to a schedule conflict, the "After Five" event at Tiffin Art Guild has been rescheduled to 5 p.m. March 20 at the gallery, 178 S. Washington St.
The event was to be March 21.
"After Five" is a monthly networking event hosted by the chamber at member locations.

SANDUSKY Kalahari Resorts is offering a chance to win a family African safari to the Republic of South Africa.
The chance to win a safari is open to registered guests staying overnight at Kalahari Resort, either in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., or Sandusky, befire April 10. The winner is to be selected randomly from the pool of eligible entrants and announced April 18.
The winner is to receive travel vouchers for airfare, resort accommodations and activities valued at $22,000 for up to four family members.
Entrants must be at least 18 years or older at time of entry.
