Roxanna ‘Roxie’ Kiefer

Roxanna "Roxie" Kiefer (nee Haugh), 61, of Cleves, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Christ Hospital surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer.

Roxie was born April 11, 1951, in Bascom, to Jack and Barbara (Berrier) Haugh. She married Michael J. Kiefer March 18, 1977. Roxie attended Hopewell-Loudon High School, Bascom. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who stayed home with her children until they reached school age, then entered the workplace.

She had many hobbies and interests but her true love was working with fabric and in her herb garden. Roxie recently turned this love into a business opening a store called simplify2 on the craft website Etsy.com (Please enjoy reading the wonderful feedback from her customers).

Her greatest joy in life was just letting people know how special they were and what they meant to her. She loved life and you could always tell when Roxie was in the room by her mighty laugh. Roxanna was a long-time member of Cleves Presbyterian Church and served as deacon, director, historian, Sunday school teacher and at the time of her death was the church treasurer. Her passion was to keep the church vibrant and she worked tirelessly to achieve this.

Roxanna is survived by her beloved husband, Michael; daughter, Hilary (Ryan) Snyder; two sons, Jeremy (Juli) and Matthew (Kiri); four grandchildren, Hannah, Hayden, Jacob and Lukas with another granddaughter due in May; her parents, Jack and Barbara Haugh; five siblings, Nancy (John) Metzger, Cynthia (Jim) Ritchey, Henna (Brian) Dennis, Cole (Carol) Haugh and Frank (Barb) Haugh; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service for Roxie will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Cleves Presbyterian Church.

Visitation with family will be 10:30-11 a.m. and immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Roxie's name to Cleves Presbyterian Church, 25 E. State Road, Cleves, OH 45002.
