Dennis Lynn Jordan Sr.

Dennis Lynn Jordan Sr., 62, of Upper Sandusky and formerly Tiffin, passed away at 11:18 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at his home.

Dennis was born June 24, 1950, in Fremont, to Carmi J. and Lorena (Riehm) Jordan, both of whom are deceased. He married Joni Reser July 29, 1989, at Trinity United Church of Christ, Tiffin and she survives.

He also is survived by a son, Dennis Jordan Jr. "DJ" of Upper Sandusky; a daughter, Julia A. Jordan of Columbus; a brother, Neil (Barb) Jordan of Tiffin; a sister, Ruth Lemke of Dayton; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lee and Ann Reser of Rotonda West, Fla.; five brothers-in-law, Jim (Paula) Reser of Tiffin, Joe (Mary Ellen) Reser of Columbus, Jeff (Gayle) Reser of Bucyrus, Jack (Heidi) Reser of Bellefountaine and Ray (Lisa) Reser of Marysville; two sisters-in-law, Janice (Ed) Roman of Columbus and Jill (Jon) Turner of Marysville; and many nieces and nephews.

He also was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Darrell Lemke.

Dennis was a third-generation farmer having farmed his entire life. He also worked at American Standard, Tiffin, for 27 years until his retirement.

He graduated from Hopewell-Loudon High School in 1968 and went on to get his B.S. in agronomy in 1973 from The Ohio State University.

Dennis was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church, Upper Sandusky, and the following organizations: The Ohio State Alumni Association, National Rifle Association and Promise Keepers.

As a young man, Dennis participated in 4-H, where later he served as an adviser, and also Future Farmers of America, where he received his state Farmer Degree.

For hobbies, Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and collecting hats and Craftsman tools. Being an OSU alumni, he always was following the various Buckeye sports teams.

Dennis will be remembered for his love for his family, and his kind and gentle personality.

A memorial services for Dennis Lynn Jordan Sr. will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church, Upper Sandusky, with the Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Saturday at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, Upper Sandusky.

Memorial contributions may be made to Youth Missions at Trinity Evangelical U.M.C. or Hospice of Wyandot County in care of Lucas-Batton Funeral Home, 476 S. Sandusky Ave., Upper Sandusky, OH 43351.
