Carolyn M. Houck, 58, of Tiffin, passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 14, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 7, 1954, in Tiffin, to John and Helen (Magers) Bloom. She married Ed "Andy" Houck May 23, 1986, and he survives.
Also surviving are three brothers, Michael Bloom of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Kenneth (Darlene) Bloom and Edward (Tara) Bloom, both of Tiffin; six sisters, Jean (Ron Berry) of Tiffin, Sharon (Ed) McCormack and Loretta Bloom, both of Aiken, S.C., and Kathleen (Glenn) Platt, twin sister, Geralyn Hammer, and Wanda Wenner, all of Tiffin; two sisters-in-law, Nelene (Lanny) Keckler and Barb Houck, both of Tiffin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John and two brothers-in-law, Ken Hammer in 2003 and Bill Houck in 2012.
Carolyn graduated in 1975 from Mohawk High School and worked as a home health care aide for many years for area agencies. She was a member of the Eagles, Bellevue, and enjoyed cooking, baking and bowling. Carolyn was a thoughtful, caring person and enjoyed comforting others. She was family oriented and her family was very important to her.
Her Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort. A rosary will be prayed 20 minutes prior to the Mass.
Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18 at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424. A Christian wake service will begin at 5:45 p.m.
