Around the WSOS four-county service area, 297 households were approved in January to receive assistance to pay their heating bills through the Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program.

A total of $127,710 was approved to assist these residents, including $30,762 to 54 households in Seneca County.

EHEAP provides one-time assistance to income-eligible residents to help them maintain heat by paying some of their heating bills. These households receive up to $175 one time to pay regulated electric and other utilities, up to $450 one time to pay non-regulated utilities and up to $750 for those who use propane and have less than a10-day supply left in the tank.
