A woman delivering mail was injured when her sport utility vehicle was struck by a truck in Hopewell Township Tuesday morning.

A Jeep Liberty driven by Diann L. Graham, 47, of Tiffin, and a Chevrolet pickup driven by Nicholas W. Bumb, 25, of Carey, were southwest-bound on CR 591, according to State Highway Patrol.

Trooper Jim Van Camp of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said the Jeep was stopped, partially off the roadway, to deliver mail to a mailbox. The truck ran into the rear of the Jeep, he said.

Van Camp said Graham was taken to Mercy Tiffin Hospital, and he did not think her injuries were serious. Bumb was not transported and was cited with assured clear distance.

Postal service workers responded to the scene. Deputy Denny Wilkinson of Seneca County Sheriff's Office said they were going to finish delivering the mail.

Personnel from Bascom EMS, Bascom Joint Fire District, Seneca County's Echo unit, Seneca County Sheriff's Office and State Highway Patrol also responded to the scene of the accident, which was reported at 11:11 a.m. in front of 2851 S. CR 591.
