FINDLAY - Several TU track and field athletes took titles in various races, including three provisional NCAA marks.
Ashley DeWitt heaved the weight 60-10" while Taylor Deskins ran 25.86 in the 200 meter dash. Each earned provisional bids for the NCAA Division II Indoor meet.
Eugene Cannaday sailed 6-9 1/2 in the high jump to win his event and grab the final bid of the day.
He also leaped 22-3 3/4 in the long jump for second.
Kiona Anderson took titles in both the 60m hurdles (8.80) and 400m dash (58.78) while teammate Candace Longhino-Thomas was runner-up in the 400 (59.26). Brittany Darby won the 60m dash (7.92) while Kayla Ellks captured the long jump (17-9 1/2).
Topp is tops for Wilmington
WILMINGTON - Wilmington's LeAnn Topp was too much for Heidelberg, and the Quakers pulled away in the second half, beating the Student Princes 55-46.
Topp was the only Quaker to score in double figures, with 16 points to go with 11 rebounds. She also had three blocks, three steals.
Topp also was 3 of 4 at the foul line, a place Wilmington got to more than seven times as often as Heidelberg. The Quakers (12-7, 8-4 Ohio Athletic Conference) made 18 of 29 from the stripe. Heidelberg went to foul line just four times, and made one free throw.
Jordan Ickes scored 11 points for Heidelberg (5-14, 1-11), while Paige Ricketts had 10 points and seven rebounds.
Boyden, Bevington lead HU
ALLIANCE - Mary Beth Boyden was the lone Student Prince to win an event while Marian Bevington had a strong showing for Heidelberg at the North Split meet.
Boyden heaved the shot put 42-8, which helped her claim a title. She also finished runner-up in the weight throw with a 45-2.
Marian Bevington took second in the 60 meter hurdles (9.49) and long jump (17-0).
Greg Falcone added fourths in the shot (48-1) and weight (48-8) throws.
