FOSTORIA - St. Wendelin closed down Monclova Christian in the first half and scored at least 17 points in the first three periods Saturday in a 57-35 rout.
Nick Schumaker tossed in 16 points and Zach Miller had eight points and 10 rebounds for the Mohawks (5-8), who turned a 17-8 lead at the first stop into a 35-10 halftime advantage.
Gabe Walters chipped in eight points and eight boards against the Thunder, Donovan Scudder snared four steals, Schumaker dished three assists, and Nick Baker and Brady Rutter grabbed three steals each.
Second quarter helps Comets
GENOA - Luke Rightnowar fueled a big second quarter by Genoa as the Comets held off Lakota, 81-74.
Rightnowar pumped in 12 of his 25 points in the second as the Comets powered out to a 49-32 halftime lead.
Lakota rallied, though, with a 22-10 third quarter to trail only 59-54 before Genoa held the Raiders off down the stretch.
Casey Gase added 16 points for Genoa, Noah Goodrich had 14 and Amos Kauyer and Grant Adams scored 11 each.
Nate Ray sparked the Raiders with 30 points, netting 22 in the second half. Kody Brewer backed him with 25 points ad Colin Timmons tossed in eight.
Bucks race away
NEW WASHINGTON - Buckeye Central stormed off in the second period and had three players combine to outscore Crestline in a 55-25 North Central Conference romp.
The Bucks (8-6, 6-1 NCC) used a 22-4 surge in the second to enter halftime up 36-12.
Cade Kaple led the way with 13 points and six rebounds. Austin Wurm added 12 points and Stone Wurm scored 11.
Nate Coffman and Joey Vogt scored eight points each for the Bulldogs (3-10, 2-4).
Mount fans Flames
MANSFIELD - Brandon Mount popped in 29 points and Bryce Ernsberger added 18 Saturday as Mansfield Christian beat Mohawk 67-47.
Drew Loose's 12 points and seven rebounds led the Warriors in the loss. Grant Ekleberry also scored 12 points against the Flames.
