Seneca County

A "Moon of Popping Trees" hike is at 7 p.m. Jan. 27 at Clinton Nature Preserve, TR 132 off SR 53 north of Tiffin. All ages are invited to walk the trail, talking about and listening to the popping of the trees.

The walk will last about 1 1/2 hours and qualifies for the walking stick program. In case of snow, meet at Schekelhoff Nature Preserve entrance on Water Street.

Sandusky County

Children ages 3-7 can enjoy a Story and Stroll 5:30-7:30 p.m. Jan. 30 at Wolf Creek Campground, 2701 S. SR 53, Fremont.

The group is to read a book about animals in winter and then stroll looking for animal sleeping places. Register by calling (419) 334-4495.

Hancock County

Join a twilight hike in the light of the setting sun and glow of the rising full moon at 4 p.m. Jan. 26. Meet at shelter 3 of Riverbend Recreation Area.

Snow-covered trails might be underfoot, so animal tracks could be abundant. Riverbend is at 16618 TR 208, off SR 568 east of Findlay.

Wee Ones ages 3 and younger with an adult companion can learn who's making footprints in the snow 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. Jan. 28 at Oakwoods Nature Preserve. Other-age siblings are welcome.

The program includes a story and activities about tracks. The center is at 1400 Oakwoods Lane, west of Findlay.
