The Advertiser-Tribune

A Tiffin man was found guilty of trespassing and felonious assault after a jury trial concluded last week in Seneca County Common Pleas Court.

According to court documents, a jury found Scott E. Nye, 34, guilty of trespass in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present, a fourth-degree felony, and felonious assault, a second-degree felony.

Jurors also found Nye did not act in self-defense when he committed the felonious assault offense.

Nye was indicted on the charges in October for trespassing in a Tiffin residence and using a torque wrench to assault a man in March.

Nye's bond was continued last week and his case was referred to CROSSWAEH for sentencing.
