Rita D. Crim, 93, passed away Monday evening, Jan. 7, 2013, at Brethren Care Village, Ashland.
She was born Feb. 23, 1919, in Pleasant Plains, Ark., to Lester and Lillie (Pryor) Gottfried. Rita was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church since 1953. She enjoyed cats, birds, reading, jigsaw puzzles and most of all, helping others.
She is survived by a son, Harold (Peg) Crim of Ashland; three daughters, Ruth Stehlin of Pahrump, Nev., Clara (Albert) Ahrens of Ravenna and Deb (Rex) King of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren, Sonia Alexander and Eric Stehlin, both of Nevada, Stephen, Curtis (Erin) and Danny (Cathy) Ahrens, Bill and P.J. Crim and Ben, Matt and Dana King, all of Ohio; five great-grandchildren, Daniel Alexander and Ashley Brill of Nevada, and Grace and Matt Ahrens and Will Crim, all of Ohio; a sister, Elizabeth Bailey of Florida; a brother, Jack Walley of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers.
Her funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Ave., Ashland, OH, 44805, (419) 522-5211, with Father Rod Kreidler officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery. Friends and family may visit beginning at 1 p.m.
