Rick A. Hoffbauer, age 44, of McCutchenville, died at 3 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Mercy Tiffin Hospital.
He was born on Feb. 12, 1968, in Tiffin, to Paul J. Hoffbauer, Fostoria, and Judith R. (Zeigler) Von Blon, rural McCutchenville. Rick married Kelly A. (Wagner) on May 7, 1994, and she survives.
He is also survived by his two sons, Travis A. Hoffbauer, of McCutchenville, and Dylan A. Hoffbauer at home; his maternal grandmother, Virginia Zeigler, rural McCutchenville; one half sister, Joyce Gossard, Findlay; and two half brothers, Joe Hoffbauer, Findlay, and Ronald Hoffbauer, Fostoria.
Rick owned his own construction company going by Hoffbauer Construction and Excavating. He also owned a driveway sealing business called Seal King. He was a 1987 graduate of Mohawk High School.
For hobbies, Rick liked to hunt and fish and ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He also loved to go camping at Lake Erie. His biggest passion was spring car racing and go-cart racing with his two sons at all the area race tracks like Attica, Fremont and Bellevue.
A memorial service for Rick will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at All Saints Catholic Church, New Riegel, with the Rev. Timothy Kummerer officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
Visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to the memorial service. A dinner will follow the service at the New Riegel American Legion. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, Ohio.
