Man killed by train ID’d

The man struck and killed by a train Monday morning near the Clinton Avenue crossing has been identified by police.

According to a release from the Tiffin Police Department, Bradley R. Ehrenfried, 55, of Tiffin, was struck by an eastbound CSX train just before 6:15 a.m. The train had just crossed the Sandusky River when Ehrenfried was struck.

CSX notified police, and when they arrived, Ehrenfried was found at the end of Tilden and Railroad streets.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of Tuesday evening, police still were investigating whether the incident was accidental.

According to the release, the coroner is investigating Ehrenfried's cause of death.
