Boys Basketball Roundup: Generals outrank Blue Jackets

NEW RIEGEL - Grant Fiock put in 22 points, one of four Anthony Wayne players to score in double figures as the Generals got past New Riegel, 66-51.

Mark Donnal posted a double-double fpr the Generals, who used an 18-10 second quarter to improve to 2-0 this season.

New Riegel (3-1) was led by Brandyn Reinhart, who had 19 points and six rebounds. Korey Williams had 14 points.

SW boards up Hardin Northern

FOSTORIA - St. Wendelin didn't shoot all that well from the floor Saturday night.

Then again, the way the Mohawks were rebounding, they didn't need to.

St. Wendelin held a 58-23 advantage on the boards against visiting Hardin Northern. Twenty-three of SW's rebounds were offensive.

Zack Miller was particularly dominant up front, grabbing 16 rebounds, scoring 12 points and leading the Mohawks to a 65-54 win over the Polar Bears.

Nick Schumaker had a team-best 18 points for St. Wendelin (2-1). Gabe Walters had 17 points to go with eight rebounds. Brady Rutter also had eight boards.

Wurm's 22 paces Buckeye Central

NEW WASHINGTON - Buckeye Central had a huge fourth quarter and Adam Wurm came through on foul shots as the Bucks slipped by Mansfield St. Peter, 55-53.

Wurm hit 16 foul shots to go with three jumpers to end with 22 points. He also snagged nine rebounds.

Grant Loy, Stone Wurm and Alan Niese all chipped in eight points a piece.

Trey Howell led Mansfield St. Peter (1-2) with 18 points.

Carey comes out ahead in overtime

NORTH ROBINSON - Carey started off strong and Colonel Crawford forced overtime, but the Eagles couldn't hang as Carey secured a 64-57 OT victory on the road.

Carey (3-0) was led by Bryan Power's 22 points.

Justin Meek added 18 points while Zach Boes tallied a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Connor McCreary led Colonel Crawford (2-1) with 25 points.
