Prep Basketball Roundup: Raiders fall to New Riegel

NEW RIEGEL - The Blue Jackets snatched the first quarter from Lakota 18-12, and then erupted in the second 22-6 which led them to the victory.

Brandyn Reinhart's 18 points and 10 rebounds carried New Riegel (3-0). Korey Williams, who sank the only two 3-point shots for the Blue Jackets, added 16 to the total.

Kody Brewer and Colin Timmons, who led the steals with five, both scored ten points for the Raiders. Kyle Below added eight points for Lakota (2-1).

Chieftains cruise in MAL opener

BETTSVILLE - Hopewell-Loudon blitzed Bettsville 24-0 in the first quarter and rolled from there Friday in a 72-17 Midland Athletic League win.

Andrew Rohrbach's 14 points led the Chieftains (2-0, 1-0 MAL), who nearly made as many shots (34) as Bettsville attempted (38).

UPPER SANDUSKY - Taylor Graboski registered a double-double and shot well all around to help Upper Sandusky down Ontario, 63-59.

Graboski pounded in 21 points and snared 10 rebounds while Allison Snyder (11) and Jorden Born (10) contributed.
