Julia Mae (Dixie) Morton, 81, of Fostoria, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Toledo Hospital, Toledo, following a lengthy illness.
She was born July 20, 1931, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Curtis and Georgia (Johnson) Dixie Sr. She married Irvin Morton Jan. 5, 1956, and he preceded her in death in 2008.
She is survived by five children, Albert Dixie of Findlay, Barbara Scott of Sandusky and Walter (Sharon) Jackson, Duane (Barbara) Jackson and Nina Charlton, all of Fostoria; a stepson, Irvin (Johnnie) Morton Parish of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Curtis Dixie Jr. of Findlay; two sisters, Joan Valentine of Anderson, Ind., and Beverly Barfield of Springfield; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Julia also was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Clara Johnson; and a grandson.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m., with her funeral beginning at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Mann-Hare-Hoening Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
