High-visibility enforcement is to begin Friday and run through Jan. 2 on Seneca County roadways.
According to a release from the Seneca County Sheriff's Office, the Christmas and New Year's blitz will target speed, seatbelt usage, traffic control violations and operators who are under the influence.
The goal of the overtime traffic enforcement is to reduce the number of speed- and alcohol-related accidents on Seneca County roadways. It is funded by a grant issued through the Ohio Department of Public Safety and the Office of Criminal Justice Services.
All grant hours are worked on a voluntary basis by the deputies of the sheriff's office, according to the release.
