Sentinel Career and Technology Center invited people to enroll in ABLE/GED classes before major changes to the GED test begin in 2014.
Sentinel's ABLE/GED program offers a variety of services designed to meet the needs of people interested in improving their academic and workplace skills. Because of funding through a grant, ABLE classes are offered free to participants ages 18 and older.
For anyone wanting to obtain a GED, classes offered prepare students for components of the test and provide test-taking tips.
To enroll, students are required to attend an orientation where registration forms and placement testing are completed.
The next orientation will be 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Students should plan to arrive promptly and to stay for the entire two hours. Orientations will take place in room 244 of the Family Learning Center at Sentinel.
Class times are 9-11 a.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 12:30-2:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday; and 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
GED testing is available the first Tuesday and Wednesday of each month. Before testing, online applications are required along with a $40 fee.
The last class this month is to be Dec. 13, and classes resume Jan. 7.
For more information, to sign up for orientation or to register to take the GED test, call (419) 448-5084 during class times.
