Heidelberg music shows

Heidelberg University is finishing the fall semester with a number of free concerts in Brenneman Music Hall.

They include:

The Faculty Woodwind Quintet, 11 a.m. today.

Small ensembles concert, 8:15 p.m. today.

Student composition recital, 7 p.m. Friday.

Community Music School recitals, 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Saturday.

Heidelberg Symphonic Band, 7 p.m. Saturday.

Shack arranges open house

The Weathered Shack, 156 Thomas St., is to have its Christmas open house 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.

Local crafter Deb Fuller has home decor, florals and candles for sale, including a special candle to benefit the All Patriots Memorial in Tiffin.

Regular hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday.

Friday is stocking deadline

Stockings for Soldiers, decorated and stuffed, must be turned in by Friday at Engle-Shook Funeral Home on North Washington Street, Tiffin.

The stockings are to be sent to U.S. military stationed overseas.

Carver to vend at Winterfair

Wood carver Steve Miller of Tiffin is to be among hundreds of vendors at Winterfair Friday through Sunday at the Ohio State Fairgrounds, Columbus.

Winterfair is an artists' market where shoppers can find a variety of crafts, including ceramics, clothing, glass, jewelry, leather, paintings, photography, sculpture and wood carvings.

Hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday. All items are handmade in American studios.

Bingo is the game Monday

A community bingo is scheduled 1 p.m. Monday at Seneca House in Tiffin. Participants can win prizes and enjoy snacks and refreshments.

Also, Seneca House is hosting a food drive that ends Monday. Non-perishable food items can be dropped off 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. All donations will be given to a local food pantry.

Craft and gift market planned

BELLEVUE - Historic Lyme Village is to host a holiday craft and gift market 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and noon-4 p.m. Sunday.

Crafters and vendors will have items for sale and the Village Gift Shop is to be open.

Arts council selling raffle tickets, presenting workshops

FOSTORIA - Fostoria Community Arts Council, 125 S. Main St., Fostoria, continues to sell raffle tickets for a $200 cash prize through Dec. 1.

Contact any FCAC board member or stop at the office.

Browning Payne from Payne Brothers Greenhouse is to present an adult holiday wreath-making workshop at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at the FCAC office.

Fresh evergreen, wreath frames, spool wire and outdoor ribbon are to be provided. Payne is to offer tips and demonstrate the addition of decorations.

The workshop costs $25. For reservations, tools needed or more information, call Payne at (419) 435-4324.

Cheryl Graves is to offer a free children's holiday workshop 10 a.m.-noon Dec. 8 at the FCAC office. Children in grades 1-6 can attend.

Party coming to local depot

Hosted by Larry Breidenbach, the 10th annual Christmas Party at the Depot is set for 8 p.m. Dec. 7 at 65 N. Monroe St.

Admission is free. Guests are asked to bring a new gift for a child and a favorite dish to share.

Free Wild of Tiffin is to provide music.

Green Springs church peddling cookies, candies

GREEN SPRINGS - A variety of cookies and candies are to be for sale during a Cookie Walk 9 a.m.-noon Dec. 8 at Green Springs United Methodist Church on Broadway Street.

Cost is $6 per pound.

Dancing to help CASA

Court Appointed Special Advocates of Seneca, Sandusky and Wyandot Counties is staging its second annual "Stars Dancing for CASA" at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at Camden Falls, 2460 S. SR 231.

Doors are to open at 6:30 p.m. Hors d'oeuvre are to be served and a cash bar is to be available.

Proceeds are to be used to support the local CASA program, which provides trained volunteers to advocate for the interest of abused and neglected children in our community.

Tickets are on sale for $30 at the CASA office in Tiffin, 21 Court St.

Fundraiser set for Bob Evans

Bob Evans Restaurant, 2310 W. SR 18, is offering a community fundraiser 6 a.m.-9 p.m. Dec. 10.

If a flyer is presented at the time of check-out, Bob Evans is to donate 15 percent of the sale to the Allen Eiry Senior Center.

Senior health checks offered

The Seneca County General Health District is to sponsor a senior health check 1-3 p.m. Dec. 12 at Helburn Meadows for anyone age 60 or older.
