Red Cross offering winter classes

American Red Cross of Fostoria/Seneca County is offering Be Red Cross Ready winter storm readiness programs at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at the American Red Cross office in the Tiffin Mall and 6 p.m. Dec. 11 at Fostoria Fire Department.

"Severe weather conditions are a regular occurrence during winter in northwest Ohio and families need to be ready before they happen," said Director David Conley. "We will be presenting information on the three basic steps of emergency preparedness Get A Kit, Make A Plan and Be Informed steps that all families need to take before disaster strikes."

Conley said the program also will feature specific information on preparing for winter storms, ice and power outages.

Families attending the program will receive a free Red Cross tote bag with a first-aid kit and disaster preparedness materials included.
