Report suspicious activity, deputy says

Seneca County Sheriff's Office received reports Saturday of unlocked vehicles being ransacked in the areas of Fort Seneca and Old Fort.

Deputy Christopher Potter said the department had not made an arrest and did not have a suspect Saturday evening. People need to secure their vehicles and houses, he said.

"Report any suspicious activity," Potter said.

The department received 11 reports of vehicles being ransacked. People in the 8000 block of Main Street, the 7000 block of Fort Street, the 8000 block of Fort Street, the 5000 block of North SR 53 and the 800 block of East CR 40 reported Saturday vehicles were broken into.

Tiffin Police Department took about a dozen reports Friday of vehicles being tampered with, according to police reports.

The Tiffin incidents happened in the 200 block of Jefferson Street, the first block of Gross Street, the 100 block of Melmore Street, the 200 block of Melmore Street, the 400 block of Hedges Street, the 300 block of Circular Street and the first block of Tiffin Street.
