Floyd R. Forwalder Jr., 66, of Tiffin, Republic and Attica, was embraced into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2012, surrounded by his family.
He was born April 17, 1946, to Floyd Forwalder Sr. and Margaret (McCoy) Forwalder along with his twin brother, Frank. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his sisters Rose (Forwalder-Schwochow) William Kiesel, whom Floyd resided with his entire life, and Esther Mullins of Kentucky; brothers Frank (Florence) Forwalder (his twin) of Clyde and David (Dianna) of Tiffin; and his fiancee, Sue Detterman of Tiffin.
He also was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Forwalder; and a sister, Elizabeth Capper.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Care, Seneca County School of Opportunity or the Humane Society.
Floyd has numerous nieces and nephews and a special place in his heart for his niece Diane's dog, little Emmie, who protected him if anyone dared to come near him. He loved spending time with his niece, Diane, and his fiancee, Sue Detterman.
Floyd was a member of National Shepherd's Chapel of Gravette in Arkansas. A special memorial tribute will be 6 p.m. today, Nov. 24, 2012, on the first floor of Devon House, 843 N. Water St., Tiffin.
His smiles and soft demeanor will be missed by all. He was an avid athlete. His activities included running track, watching wrestling, playing cards and bowling. He loved the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State!
Floyd ran for Special Olympics and at Tiffin Center. He loved collecting trophies and awards. It was the winning that inspired him.
He was employed at Tiffin Systems for 28 years and had been at the Fostoria division for 15 years. He held a special place in his heart for his bosses Laurie and Melody. He enjoyed the company of his workmates and many friends and loved to work.
Floyd had taken a vacation with his nieces and nephew to the Dominican Republic. He enjoyed it so much and loved talking about it.
Floyd was loved and will be missed by many, but we know that our loss is God's gain. See you later Floyd!
