NEW RIEGEL - New Riegel dominated the first half Friday in a 46-12 season-opening whipping of Vanlue.

The Blue Jackets led 19-2 at the first stop and 36-4 by halftime.

Taylor Arbogast and Kara Scherger both scored 11 points for New Riegel. Taylor Kirian added five rebounds and Scherger had four steals and four assists.

New Riegel's defense forced Vanlue into 28 turnovers, while the Blue Jackets committed just six themselves.

Vanlue hit on five shots in 35 attempts, including no 3-pointers on seven tries.

Logan Frey's four points and Katie Thomas' eight boards led the Wildcats.

Woodmore clamps down on Stockaders

ELMORE - Allie Wank and Katey Avers combined to outscore Old Fort in Woodmore's 63-21 win Friday.

Wank tossed in 15 points and Avers scored 10 for the Wildcats. Grace Weirich (9) and Mackenzie Johnson (8) teamed up for another 17 points.

Shelby Bilger scored seven points to top the Stockaders.
