KANSAS - Lakota Local Schools Board of Education accepted the resignation of Norman Elchert, middle school principal, during a meeting Wednesday.
"He's a first-class individual and he's really given a lot to Lakota," said David Danhoff, Lakota superintendent.
"I just want to say 'thank you.' You've all always been supportive," Elchert said to board members.
"Not only are you a principal, but also a friend," said Chris Chalfin, board member.
"Good luck. Keep doing what you're doing," said Fred Keith, board member.
Elchert is to take the position of treasurer for Fostoria Schools.
They also approved Steven Selvey as interim middle school principal.
Other board approvals included:
Nine grant funded stipends to be paid in two installments to recipients.
Twleve personnel changes including athletic appointments, substitutes, leave of absence and the retirement of custodian Donald Gump.
A donation of $277 to the tree fund from the Class of 1967.
E-rate connection to perform the 2013-2014 Federal E-rate program application for Lakota Schools.
Additional course to the 2012-2013 Lakota high school course offerings.
Propane fuel from Prism Propane for the price of $1.359 per gallon.
Donation of a pink weeping cherry tree from the Class of 1962.
Eighteen board policies.
Return of funds to former superintendent Rebecca Heimlich.
