Local singing
contest winners announced
ATTICA - Seneca East Schools has released the results from Saturday's "So You Think You Can Sing" competition finals.
Megan Brunty, Upper Sandusky Middle School, took first place in the middle school division. Receiving second and third places, respectively, were Ryan Outland, Upper Sandusky, and Macey Butchko, Firelands Middle School in Oberlin.
Cassie Hartzell, Seneca East Junior High, won Audience Choice Award.
In the high school division, Ellen Lange, Calvert High School, placed first. Kaelan Vogt, Seneca East, and Raven Moloney, Carey High School, were named second and third place, respectively.
Makayla Wilkinson, Old Fort High School, was Audience Choice Award winner.
Winners received $100 and a trophy; second place received $50 and a trophy, and third place received $25 and a trophy. Audience Choice winners received a trophy.
Parade to start holiday
season in downtown Fostoria
FOSTORIA The Rotary Club Holiday Parade is to step off at 5 p.m. Sunday on Main Street in Fostoria.
Lighting of the community Christmas tree is to follow, and Santa is to be present 6-8 p.m. at the LE&W Depot, 128 W. North St., Fostoria.
Santa also is to be at the depot 5-7 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday in December. Dogs are welcome to be photographed with Santa.
Gospel singing coming
Gospel singing is to being at 6 p.m. Saturday at Freewill Baptist Church, 129 Eighth Ave. Danny Ray of Cleveland is to be among the performers.
Food and fellowship are to follow the singing.

Christmas shows booked
Kevin Maiberger and Yvonne Ehrenfried are to entertain residents at area nursing homes and assisted living facilities. This will be their fifth year of volunteering their musical talents at Christmas time.

Victorian dinners
to be served at Lyme Village
BELLEVUE - Historic Lyme Village is to host Victorian Christmas dinners 6-9 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 and 1 p.m. Dec. 2 in the Wright Mansion at the village.
The evening includes music, appetizers, a four-course dinner, stories and a tree-lighting ceremony.

Strand to host 2 shows
FREMONT - The Strand Concert Theater, 220 S. Front St., Fremont, is offering two shows next weekend.
Rick Shuler is to perform the "Songs and Sounds of John Denver" at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30.
The Horse Cave Trio and Rick Shuler are teaming for a performance at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1. The trio includes Ron DeVore, Lou Simon and Tony Bizon performing a blend of bluegrass, soul, rock, country and blues.
The doors open at 7 p.m. for each show. Patrons, 21 and older only, can bring their own coolers.
