A man who was recently convicted of raping a 13-year-old relative was sentenced this week to seven years in prison.
Thomas T. Russell Jr., 48, who pleaded guilty to charges of rape and abduction last month, was sentenced Monday in Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Kelbley's courtroom.
A court spokeswoman said Russell was sentenced to seven years for the rape conviction and 30 months for the abduction conviction. The sentences are to be served concurrently.
Russell was arrested in January and later indicted on the charges for raping a 13-year-old girl at her grandfather's residence in Tiffin. Russell had also been staying at the same residence.
