The holidays are about to begin, and Kevin Maiberger and Yvonne Ehrenfried again have prepared music for the Christmas season. The pair has recorded a CD called "Christmas Presence."
Maiberger produced the album and worked with Ehrenfried to arrange the vocals and accompaniment for each song. The combined St. Joseph and St. Mary church choirs are featured on two of the selections.
"Today is a gift: that's why we call it the present" - is our theme this year. Kevin and I love that saying and try to live our life by the "presence" of God and the "presence" of great moments, not the material presents at Christmas time," Ehrenfried said.
Ro Ro Design of Tiffin did the photography for the CD cover. Proceeds from the CD sales are to be divided between Calvert Catholic Schools and Seneca County Toys for Tots/Salvation Army Toy drive. This recording is the duo's third effort to raise money for the community.
Because Maiberger and Ehrenfried often perform in the Toledo area with the band, The Late Show, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has invited them to appear on the Toledo Make-A-Wish Christmas CD fundraiser.
Last year's effort included Jamie Farr, Crystal Bowersox, Chrys Peterson, and other Toledo personalities.
"We're very proud to be a part of this, with such great personalities, and to raise money for such a great cause," Ehrenfried said. "Kevin and I will be appearing at the cast party and CD launch in Toledo Dec. 5. We're very excited to see who will be selected to also be a part of such an elite effort and great cause."
Several Tiffin locations have the CD for sale. They include Paulettes, Threads, Tiffin Hardware, The Cross, St. Francis Gift Shop, Varsity Barber Shop, Phat Cakes, St. Mary and St. Joseph parish offices, Calvert High School and Calvert Elementary. The parishes are to have the CD for sale after Masses this weekend.
