ARCHBOLD Government agencies are to meet with private stakeholders to investigate the effects of last summer's drought on agriculture and long-term recovery efforts during a meeting 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Nov. 27.
The meeting is to take place at Northwest State Community College, George Voinovich Auditorium, 22600 SR 34, Archbold.
Recognizing that recovery from drought can be a lengthy process, the meeting is an opportunity to examine its impact on producers, local communities and businesses and to highlight resources available to assist local recovery efforts.
The free event features three break-out sessions: community development and business impacts; livestock, hay and grazing impacts; and crop agriculture impacts.
Included in the meeting are to be representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Economic Development Administration, U.S. Small Business Administration and Federal Emergency Management Agency, as well as state agencies Ohio State University Extension, Ohio Department of Agriculture, Northwest State Community College, Center for Innovative Food Technology and Ruralogic.
