REPUBLIC - Republic council discussed final plans for their Christmas holiday celebration Monday evening.
After forming at the fire station, the parade starts at 6 p.m. Dec. 2. Participants are to be greeted by Santa and treats after arriving at the American Legion post.
Council members plan to gather Dec. 1 to assemble the treats.
Seneca East Show Choir is to perform at Trinity United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. following the parade.
Village Administrator Crystal Hoepf said Charlie's Tree Service has been working in the village trimming trees. She has been taking an inventory of stored transformers after consulting with Utility Transformers Brokers. They quoted values and agreed to sell half the transformers.
Council discussed winter snowplowing and authorized Hoepf to accept the best bid offered. She said letters soon will be sent to village residents and business owners reminding them of the snow shoveling ordinance.
Fiscal officer Monique Delaney presented the cash summary by fund report. As of Nov. 15, all accounts totaled $522,000. She received council's approval to move a supplemental appropriation of $35.84 from the Mayor's Court Fund to the council Social Security Fund.
Police Chief Don Holmer announced two weapons are being transferred to other Ohio police departments.

Expressed appreciation for recycling bins in village.
Questioned improvements in FSI Inc. services.
Council meets next at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3 with a utility committee meeting to follow.
