’Berg wrestling wins home opener

Heidelberg's wrestling team scored four pinfalls on its way to tripping Mount St. Joseph, 41-10, Tuesday in the team's home opener.

HU 133-pounder Colin McDermitt pinned Edward Sanders in 2:29, while the Student Princes' Brennan Kelly pinned 184-pounder Nolan Karwoski in 4:03.

Heidelberg 197-pounder Jason Russell needed 1:36 to pin Justin Meineke, while heavyweight Nino Majoy pinned the Lions' Iain Buckler in 6:15.

Also for Heidelberg, 149-pounder Andrew Johnson beat Tevin Byers by tech fall, while Jeremy Stepp (174) beat Mount St. Joseph's Nathan Blackwell in the same fashion.

Scoring decisions for Heidelberg were Ryan Hornack (125) and Justin Wharton (164).
