Whenever an organization publicly thanks all who helped out with a special event, someone is overlooked (sort of like the Oscars). As president of the Seneca County Park District, I would like to thank the Bloomville Lions Club for grilling the bratwurst and lebekase for our annual Oktobertfest Oct. 7.
They have been doing this for the past eight years and really know how to make a mean brat.
I have gotten to know these fellows as president of the food committee. They offer me the bratwurst pieces to munch on as I am pretty much committed to staying in the food area to oversee the line that whole day. They make my tasks enjoyable with their comments and jokes. I certainly hope we will have them back next year for another Oktoberfest, where it will be the perfect fall day.
