A Clyde man was seriously injured after a one-vehicle accident Thursday night on TR 220 in Sandusky County.

Jonathon W. Tipton, 19, was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center by Life Flight after he failed to negotiate a curve, lost control of his vehicle and struck a large tree on TR 220 near SR 412, according to a release from the State Highway Patrol.

Two passengers in his 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix, Attiah M. Fogle, 19, of North Canton and Dustin J.E. Waugh, 19, of Chillicothe also were injured.

According to the release, Fogle was taken by Life Flight to St. Vincent's, and Waugh, who suffered minor injuries, was transported to Fremont Memorial Hospital.

Speed was a factor in the crash and it remains under investigation whether alcohol was a factor.
