Heidelberg University is to welcome pianist Avguste Antonov for a performance as this year's Distinguished Montague Artist. The free concert is set for 7 p.m. Nov. 2 in Brenneman Music Hall on the Heidelberg campus.
Antonov's program is to include "Upon the Water" by Joshua deBonilla; "The Melancholy Rags, Book 1" by Gregory Hutter; "Upstate Rag" by Carter Pann; "Ballade" and "Toccata" by Robert Rollin; "Concerto No. 1 'Anti-Ares'" by Virkato Wakhmaninov and "Starry Wanderers: Earthly Hope & Stillness at the Edge" by Matthew Saunders.
A performer of 20th and 21st century music, Antonov has performed premieres at venues across North America. He an active career as soloist and teacher. He is piano instructor at The Master's Touch School of Music and Performing Arts in Grapevine, Texas.
