A family's dog was killed after a fire broke out Tuesday evening in a trailer at Nye's Trailer Park, 1521 N. Countyline St.
A Fostoria Fire Department spokesman said the fire, reported around 8 p.m. at lot 138, started in the rear of the trailer. The cause remains under investigation.
The family was not home at the time of the fire, the spokesman said, and no injuries were reported.
The trailer was unlivable following the fire, and the Red Cross was contacted to assist the family.
