Donald 'Don' E. Hayes Jr.
Donald "Don" E. Hayes Jr., 59, of Fremont, passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at his home, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born Feb. 9, 1953, in Tiffin to Donald E. and Idonna M. (Brett) Hayes Sr. He married Teresa Howard Aug.26, 1989, in Willard, and she survives.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Hayes; two stepsons, Nathaniel R. (Mandi) Jester of Fremont and Eric A. (Gretchen) Kuhn of Cape May, N.J.; a sister, Cindy (Fritz) Hayes Geer of Cincinnati; a niece, Jessie Geer, and a nephew, Henry Geer, both of Cincinnati; and five step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Hayes was a 1971 graduate of Willard High School and attended The Ohio State University, where he studied music. He worked for the city of Willard for many years and then became superintendent for Ballville Township, retiring in 2003. He was a member of Family Worship Center in Fremont, where he was part of the worship team. He was a singer and musician, especially playing the drums. He trained in drums at Willard High School and also at Heidelberg College. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and spending time with his grandkids.
His memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at Family Worship Center, 120 E. State St., Fremont, with Bishop Gary Clowers officiating.
