A Tiffin man's case charging him with complicity has been bound to Seneca County Common Pleas Court.
Johnny R. Smith, 41, who was charged with complicity last month in Tiffin Municipal Court, now faces the second-degree felony charge in the higher court.
Smith allegedly had aided or abetted Douglas Hook, 26, of Tiffin, in burglarizing a Seventh Avenue residence last month. Items reported missing from the residence included a safe containing a substantial amount of money, jewelry and two pistols. The pair then went on a shopping spree with the stolen money, according to court documents.
A search warrant was conducted at Smith's hotel room where money, new clothing and receipts for the purchase of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle were found.
Alleged stolen money also was discovered on Hook, who was found deceased. Tiffin Police Chief Fred Stevens said Hook had died of an overdose.
Future court dates for Smith were not listed on the Seneca County Clerk of Courts Web site Tuesday evening.
