KANSAS - Grant Price ran for two scores and caught one of Drew Loose's two TD tosses Friday as Mohawk thundered past Lakota 35-12 in Midland Athletic League play.
Price scored on runs of 2 and 12 yards and caught a 2-yard strike from Loose on his way to 84 yards of total offense (70 rushing, 14 receiving) for the Warriors.
Loose also found Mitch Parker for a 32-yard touchdown pass and Gunnar Johnson had a 6-yard TD run.
Still, it got interesting in the first half's final 123 seconds.
Down 14-0, Lakota's Tiger Jaso scored on a 4-yard run with 2:03 left in the half to make it an eight-point game.
Loose's 2-yard scoring pass to Price came with 32 seconds left before intermission for Mohawk, but the Raiders countered by having Kody Brewer reel in a 31-yard Colin Timmons TD strike with 3 seconds remaining to make the deficit 22-12.
Loose ran for 96 yards and went 9 of 10 passing for 124 yards for Mohawk. Johnson ran 13 times for 92 yards and Price had 13 carries for 70 yards.
Rams get on a roll early
LUCAS - Cory Frey returned the opening kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown and Upper Sandusky pulled away in the second quarter Friday in a 54-24 North Central Conference domination of Lucas.
Frey's kick return helped the Rams enjoy a 13-6 at the first stop, but Will Adelsperger's 3-yard run, and Tyler Pritchard's TD tosses of 23 and 12 yards to Donald Barth in the second period pushed the lead to 34-6.
Barth added a 2-yard scoring dive in the third quarter and caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from Pritchard in the fourth, while Cameron Crawford tacked on a 3-yard TD run in the final period. Pritchard also had a 5-yard scoring run in the first quarter.
Pritchard finished 18 of 23 passing for 260 yards, with Barth hauling in seven passes for 130 yards. Brennen Miller (5-50) and Tristan Reichelderfer (4-54) combined for nine catches and 104 receiving yards.
Blue Devils manhandle North Baltimore
NORTH BALTIMORE - Bryan Powers and Matthew Holsinger fueled the Carey machine Friday as the Blue Devils hammered Midland Athletic League foe North Baltimore 62-8.
Powers and Holsinger both ran for 114 yards, with Holsinger getting the lion's share of his total on a 99-yard TD run. He also had scoring tosses of 52 yards to Austin Patton and 34 yards to Powers.
Powers added touchdown runs of 61 and 53 yards for the Blue Devils (6-2, 4-1 MAL).
Carey's other TDs came on runs of 8 and 31 yards by Justin Meek, 3 yards by Brandon Zechman and 8 yards by Levi Smalley.
The Tigers (1-7, 0-5) got a 70-yard Dalton Ishmael TD run.
Campbell strong against Bucks
NEW WASHINGTON - Ontario's Jordan Campbell ran in four touchdowns for 224 yards in a 48-14 thrashing of Buckeye Central.
Campbell had runs of 15, one, 24 and two yards while teammate Tyler Boatwright added a 24 yard run for a touchdown.
Kameron Jones and Chad Trapp each had touchdowns for Buckeye Central (2-6, 1-4 Northern Central Conference).
