The new 4th Congressional District was gerrymandered to U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan's advantage. Challenging him is Jim Slone, a Democrat. As anyone can read in thatsmycongress.org/house, Jim Jordan's votes have favored industries that pollute (with strip mining, mountaintop removal and emission of toxins into air and water). He favored a bill allowing federal agents to seize property without warrant. He co-sponsored a bill to outlaw all abortions, several contraceptives and in-vitro fertilization clinics. He opposed a bill to reduce excessive military spending. Among other conservative votes, he favored a bill to cut funds for children, seniors, pregnant mothers and inspections for food safety.
Jim Slone is for a living wage, for reasonable farm regulations, for improving roads and bridges and for honorable treatment of military veterans and seniors. Jim Slone opposes excessive health care costs and undue corporate influence on elections. His civic experience in zoning, seniors, education and working people show great dedication to average Ohioans, not just the powerful few.
The U. S. House of Representatives has in recent years often hindered social, economic and environmental progress. Jim Slone replacing Jim Jordan will help turn that dysfunction in a healthy, productive direction.
