BOWLING GREEN - Alex Kramer and the team of Allie Elchert and Audrey Vrancken earned second-team district honors, but the Columbian players' season ended Thursday in Bowling Green.
Kramer won her first match of the district tournament, defeating Toledo Christian's Sophie Beck, 6-2, 7-5. She lost in the next round to Lexington's Courtney Ahmed, 6-4, 6-2.
Elchert and Vrancken beat Lima Shawnee's Isabelle Baird and Anita Kottapalli, 6-4, 6-3, before being upended by Ottawa Hills' Shivani Bhatt and Lilly Boice 6-3, 6-2.
Columbian coach Chip Weingart praised his players.
"It was a great season and I'm proud of what these girls accomplished," he said.
